Sycamore High School made history at the 2025 IHSA Class 2A Boys Track & Field State Finals, capturing its first-ever team state championship. The Spartans tallied 71 points to finish at the top of the leaderboard, edging out East St. Louis and securing their place in school history.
The team was led by senior Aidan Wyzard, who delivered standout performances across three events—finishing 1st in the 200-meter dash, 2nd in the 100-meter dash, and 3rd in the long jump. Fellow senior Dylan Hodges added a state title in the 400-meter dash and contributed key relay points throughout the day.
Field event success also played a crucial role. Junior Will Rosenow placed 2nd in the shot put and 9th in the discus, while senior Dylan Weides earned 7th in the discus. Braedon Shaner rounded out the field event medals with a 7th-place finish in the pole vault.
