Olson named to NSPRA’s 35 Under 35

David Olson, Communications and Community Engagement Manager, has been selected as a 35 Under 35 award recipient from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA).

The NSPRA 35 Under 35 program recognizes young professional members who are making a difference for their school districts or education-related employers. Members are nominated every other year for consideration. 

This week, NSPRA announced its fifth class of 35 Under 35. 

Olson has worked for Sycamore Community Schools for over a decade. He started his career in the District as the Auditorium Supervisor, then transitioned to Events Coordinator, and was named the District’s first Communications Manager in 2016. In his current role, Olson oversees the District’s communications team who is responsible for communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Superintendent Steve Wilder shared, “Communication with our students, parents, staff, and community stakeholders is critical to our success. David plays an instrumental role in that from both a broad perspective as well as the finer details of what we do. We wouldn’t be where we are as a district without him, and we are excited that he is being deservedly recognized by NSPRA for his talents and skills.”

Olson will be recognized at NSPRA’s 2021 seminar in New Orleans.
