“I am excited to serve as an educational leader at Sycamore High School,” said Swanson. “I am eager to make a positive contribution in the district I call home.  I look forward to the opportunity to work with fellow educators, students, parents, and community members.”

Swanson began his teaching career as a P.E./Health Teacher and Athletic/Activities Director for South Pekin Grade School.  He then took on the role of a Special Education Teacher within Lexington Jr./Sr. High School.  For the past six years, he has served as the Assistant Principal for Belvidere High School within Belvidere Community Unit School District 100.  He holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration & Foundations and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Illinois State University.

“We are excited to add Brian Swanson to the high school administrative staff as our Assistant Principal,” said Tim Carlson, Sycamore High School Principal.  “As a veteran administrator, he will be able to hit the ground running by assisting Sycamore High School staff in achieving our school and district goals.”

Nathan Wright has been selected as the Dean of Students.  This is a newly created position for the district. Wright will begin his position on July 1, 2022.

For the past fifteen years, Wright has worked for Marengo Community High School District 154.  He spent eleven years in the classroom as a Math Teacher and part-time Dean.  Most recently he served as the Athletic Director and Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach.  He holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Aurora University and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics with a statistical emphasis from Knox College.

“We look forward to having Nate Wright join our team at Sycamore High School as our Dean of Students,” said Tim Carlson.  “He will bring a presence, visibility, empathy, and compassion in assisting our students with staying on track as they matriculate through high school.”
