Grades 6-8 Math Curriculum Recommendation

Dear Sycamore Community School District 427 community,

After two years of research, professional development, and curriculum pilots, our Middle School Math Committee has selected iReady and Savvas Envision as the recommended math instructional resources for grades 6-8. This recommendation will go before the Board of Education for their consideration and tentative approval pending public review on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, in accordance with Board Policy.

iReady, developed by Curriculum Associates, was chosen for its alignment with our Essential Standards and Learning Targets and its engaging methodology, and developmental appropriateness for middle school learners. Savvas Envision was chosen for the same reasons, but also to align the 8th grade resources with existing high school resources in order to better prepare students for their transition to the next level.

As part of our review process, both curricula will be available for public display and comment. We invite you to explore the resource and share your feedback.
