AI Plan and Responsible Use Guidelines

We are excited to share our district’s AI Plan and Responsible Use Guidelines following the Board of Education’s adoption of updated Board Policy 6:235 (Access to Electronic Networks). These documents were created in partnership with the district's Technology Advisory Committee. Their purpose is to establish clear guidance and ensure that artificial intelligence (AI) is used safely and ethically in our schools, with a focus on protecting student privacy and data.

We are taking a thoughtful, phased approach to implementation that prioritizes critical thinking and human judgment. We have already begun rolling out specific training and resources for staff to ensure that these tools enhance the educational experience while keeping students safe. Middle and high school students will receive specific guidance on the appropriate use of AI, in addition to the digital citizenship training they already receive. K-5 students will continue to receive age-appropriate technology exposure through their technology time.
